THE MATCH UP
The playoff bound RiverKings open up a stretch where they play eight games in the final 12 days of the season. Tonight, they face a Tulsa Oilers team that is very much in the playoff race for that sixth and final Northern Conference playoff spot. The Oilers trail Wichita by two points for the last playoff berth, but have two games in hand over the Thunder. Those two teams will play in Wichita on the final day of the regular season on March 25. The Oilers have won their last two games and have won four of their last six games to allow them to inch up on Wichita. The RiverKings are coming off wins over playoff teams Oklahoma City and Youngstown last weekend and are three points back of first place Bossier-Shreveport in the Northeast Division standings. The Mudbugs host Southern Conference leading Laredo tonight. This is the eighth of the nine meetings between the RiverKings and Oilers this season. The teams will close out the regular season series next Tuesday at the DCC. The RiverKings have won all seven previous tilts this season, five at the Tulsa Convention Center, with five of the seven going to overtime or shootout. All-time, the RiverKings are 57-49-6 versus Tulsa, 26-29-3 in Tulsa.
