BOSSIER CITY, LA -- Cam and Chris Abbott scored four points each as the Mudbugs routed Laredo 5-1 on Tuesday night at CenturyTel Center.

The Mudbugs came out of the gate with a fired up offense in the first period. Cam Abbott sent a poor-angled shot from the corner that rebounded directly to his brother's stick for who rifled the puck into the open net. Forbes MacPherson put the Bugs up by two when he deflected Jeremy Downs' shot from the point.

The Mudbugs added another goal in the second period when Chris Brassard's slap shot went through Laredo goaltender Eric Marvin and sat in the crease, Cam Abbott slid the puck past the goal line to extend the Mudbugs' lead.

The first minute of the third period brought more fury from the Abbott brothers. Chris Abbott beat Marvin 39 seconds in to the period. His brother Cam followed it up with a great individual effort, skating up the left wing and jumping back towards the slot to score a fifth goal. Laredo Coach Terry Ruskowski pulled Marvin in favor of Kevin Reiter to finish the game. James Hiebert scored to spoil the shutout, but John DeCaro still stopped 35 of 36 shot shot to gain the Mudbugs their fourth straight win.
