RiverKings Announce Training Camp Schedule

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Here is the practice schedule for the Mississippi RiverKings Hockey Club during the first week of the 2010-2011 training camp, beginning Monday, October 4th.

RiverKings Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Kevin "Killer" Kaminski says all practices are open to the public and all practices are held at the DeSoto Civic Center, 4560 Venture Drive in Southaven.

Monday, October 4th:

10 AM-12 Noon

Tuesday, October 5th:

10 AM-12 Noon 6 PM - 7:30 PM

Wednesday, October 6th: 10 AM - 12 Noon 6PM - 7:30 PM Thursday, October 7th:

10 AM - 12 Noon 6 PM - 7:30 PM Friday, October 8th:

10 AM - 12 Noon

The RiverKings will play Bossier-Shreveport in an exhibition game at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven on Saturday, October 9th, at 6:05 PM, and again at the DCC on Sunday, October 10th, at 3:05 PM.

On Saturday, October 9th, the day's activities will begin with a 5K run/walk event from the DeSoto Civic Center grounds at 9:00 AM. Registration for that begins at 7:30 AM and is sponsored by the RiverKings Fan Club, with proceeds going toward the team's Assists for Autism program.

A Fan Fest event takes place at the DCC after the 5K event for fans to get ready for the season. The day includes food, a bounce house for the kids, and coach Kaminski and players will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs, prior to the exhibition game that night against Bossier-Shreveport.

Mississippi will also play at Evansville in an exhibition game on Monday, October 11th, starting at 7:05 PM at the Swonder Ice Arena.

The RiverKings begin the team's 19th season of hometown professional hockey in the Mid-South on October 15th at Bossier-Shreveport with the Home Opener slated for Saturday, October 16th at the DeSoto Civic Center against the Mudbugs.

Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America is the opening night's non-profit MVP. Indoor fireworks will take place that evening from Pyro-Fire, music by Inferno Entertainment, magnetic schedules to the first 3,500 in attendance from Mercury Printing, and much more.
