
Oilers Get Underway Monday

Year 19 for the Tulsa Oilers is set to get underway on Monday as the Oilers will hit the ice for training camp at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo) at 8:15 a.m.
Coach Bruce Ramsay expects a squad of 30 players for the training camp, with all sessions free and open to the public. The Oilers play two preseason games against the Wichita Thunder at Wichita on Friday October 8 and at the Oilers Ice Center on Saturday October 9 at 7:05 p.m.
"It's going to be a very competitive camp," Ramsay said. "Everyone is eager to get things underway."
Tickets for the Oilers' home preseason game are $10 and are available online at www.tulsaoilers.com and at the Oilers administrative office at 9128 E. 46th Street (between Mingo and Memorial).

Some players may still be attending American Hockey League camps. Monday through Thursday the Oilers will practice at the Oilers Ice Center from 8:15-11:15 a.m. On Friday they will skate from 10:15 to 11:15 before heading to Wichita. The week of October 11th, the Oilers will practice from 9 to 11:15 a.m. at the Oilers Ice Center, Monday Tuesday and Wednesday at the Oilers Ice Center in sessions free and open to the public. On Thursday October 14th, they will practice at the BOK Center in a session not open to the public.
The Oilers had the second highest point total increase in the CHL last season under Ramsay, who was in his first season with the Oilers. They will have 33 home games at the BOK Center in the 2010-11 season, starting on Friday October 15th against the Wichita.
