
RiverKatz announce tryout, coach

Springdale, AR-Northwest Arkansas' only professional basketball team will join with the Little Rock RiverKatz to host an open professional try-out Sunday, September 3 in Springdale at the All-Star Sports Arena. The American Basketball Association's (ABA) Arkansas Aeros and the Little Rock Riverkatz both open play in November.
"This is an opportunity for guys who have been very good at either a collegiate, amateur or professional level to come out and show us how they might benefit our professional team," said Aeros and former NCAA Division I Head Coach Bob Hoffman.
The Aeros will play pro teams in Houston, Dallas, Waco, St. Louis and other cities around the country affiliated with the growing and ever expanding ABA (www.ABAlive.com)
The September 3 try-out provides a unique opportunity for prospective pro players given that coaches and general managers from both the Little Rock and Springdale based teams will be on hand. "Both myself and the Riverkatz head coach will evaluate talent along with our coaching staff," noted Hoffman. "No matter what year you finished your collegiate eligibility or what level you played at, this event provides a venue to earn a spot on a pro team."

The event will run from approximately 2 pm thru the early evening. Players who are "called back" after the initial cut will be ask to return to the All-Star Arena on Labor Day for additional scrimmage and evaluation.
Also, the Little Rock River Catz would like to announce they have hired Ed Corporal as their new head basketball coach. "We are excited about bring Ed Corporal in as head coach, he brings with him several years of coaching experience and a desire to win." I am attaching Ed Corporal's resume and photo for review.
