Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

Pittsburgh - Following a playoff clinching victory at Highmark Stadium this past Sunday over VSI Tampa Bay, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds travel to North Carolina to meet the Wilmington Hammerheads for a mid-week showdown at Legion Stadium. With the USL PRO playoff scenarios yet to be determined and the Hammerheads needing a win to stay in contention for the post-season, Wednesday night's match-up should prove to be an intense meeting between the two Clubs. The match is slated for a 7:30 p.m. kick off and will be streamed live at USLnation.com.

In their first meeting on July 21, the Riverhounds defeated the Hammerheads 2-1 in a thrilling contest at Highmark Stadium. In a scoreless first half, Head Coach Justin Evans inserted three second-half substitutes that paid dividends just seven minutes after the break. Midfielder Seth C'deBaca linked up with striker Mike Seth at the back post to tap home the game's first goal. Likewise, Hammerheads second half substitution; Kyle Greig would bring the match back to level terms twenty minutes later after Pittsburgh failed to clear their lines from a Wilmington corner kick. Riverhounds midfielder, Matt Dallman, would record the game-winning goal in the 79th minute off of an acrobatic effort.

With ten games remaining in the USL PRO 2013 regular season and playoff fixtures to be determined by these results, Coach Evans comments about the outcomes, "We don't deserve anything at this point; we have to earn everything we get, and we have our sights set on the Championship."
