LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have bolstered their pitching staff with a pair of righthanders, including one returning player.
Rockford's only professional baseball team announced Thursday it has signed pitchers Greg Stolzenburg and Patrick Schatz. Stolzenburg returns to the RiverHawks after appearing in three games out of the bullpen last season.
Stolzenburg also split time in 2010 with the Windy City ThunderBolts and the Kalamazoo Kings. In 12 relief appearances between Rockford, Windy City and Kalamazoo, he went 0-1 with a 7.16 ERA in 16.1 innings pitched. Stolzenburg also recorded 24 strikeouts, and earned one save.
This will be Stolzenburg's second professional season.

He reached as high as the Class A Kannapolis Intimidators of the South Atlantic League, where he went 0-1 in two relief appearances. In three seasons at the University of Iowa, Schatz held a 2-2 record in 53 games out of the bullpen.
Drafted by the White Sox in 2010, Schatz is 1-4 lifetime with a 4.95 ERA in 15 games and six starts.
