Rockford, ILâ The Rockford RiverHawks rallied for a six-run sixth inning and beat the Springfield Ducks, 6-4, in front of 1,321 at Marinelli Field.
The RiverHawks overcame a 4-0 deficit and maintained at least a two-game lead in the Frontier League West, pending the outcome of the Windy City-River City doubleheader.
In the sixth inning, Rich Austin singled in two runs, then scored the tying run on Aaron McEachran's double off the wall in center field. Olmo Rosario singled in McEachran with the go-ahead run; a second run scored thanks to an error on the play.
Former setup man Marc Dulkowski, making his second start, lasted six innings and gave up three earned runs. Dulkowski (1-1) matched his season high with four strikeouts. He gave up three runs in the third inning on RBI singles by Brian Kirby and Todd Leathers.
Derrick Ellison pitched a perfect ninth inning for his first save.
Jamie Bennett (3-3) didn't make it through the sixth inning.
