July 7, 2004 - Frontier League (FL)
Chillicothe Paints News Release
The Frontier League of Professional Baseball announced the rosters for its 12th Annual All-Star Game to be played at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 14.
In spite of a sub-par record thus far (18-26), the Paints placed five players to the team, second only to the Evansville Otters and Rockford RiverHawks (six players each). Paints' shortstop, Adrian Gascon, and catcher, Tony Cosentino, will be starting for the East Division. Chillicothe's Dustin Brisson (first base) Mark Hamilton (left-handed pitcher/outfield) and Michael Kesten (left-handed pitcher) round out the selections.
The Washington Wild Things' John Massarelli will manage the Eastern Division All-Stars. He has led his club to a 30-13 record in his first season and currently leads the East Division by 2 ½ games and Chillicothe by 12 ½ games. Bob Koopman of the Rockford RiverHawks will manage the West Division. Both managers will make three extra selections to their rosters within the next few days.
The Division that wins the All-Star Game will earn home-field advantage in the Frontier League Championship Series in September. The All-Star Game will be televised by Fox Sports Midwest and aired on Saturday, July 17 at 12:00 noon.
