RiverHawks Activate Button, Trade Marsala

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks announced Tuesday they have activated outfielder Evan Button and traded pitcher Tony Marsala to the River City Rascals.
Button was on the seven-day disabled list because of a strained rib cage. He has not played since July 27 at Washington. Button is hitting .241 with an RBI in seven games.
Marsala is the player to be named later to complete an offseason trade for former RiverHawks outfielder Caleb Curry. Marsala spent most of the season on the disabled list with a rotator-cuff strain. He went on the disabled list on June 13 and was not activated until August 4.
Marsala was 1-1 with a 3.71 earned-run average in four games and two starts.
Marsala began his pro career with River City in 2005, and went 10-8 with a 4.20 earned-run average in 21 games and 19 starts for the Rascals last season.
