DANBURY, CT - Joey Bastien's three point night (1g, 2a) and a stellar performance from rookie netminder Mike D'Alessandro were keys in the Richmond RiverDogs 4-1 victory over the Danbury Trashers. The win is the team's third straight and improves their record to 5-8-1 for 11 points and a tie for 3rd in the Eastern Division. The RiverDogs also got goals from Dennis Mullen, his first of the season, J.J. Wrobel and a shorthanded goal from Mike Oliveira. Richmond held a 3-0 advantage going into the 3rd period when Danbury broke the shutout at 4:09 on a goal from Alex Goupil. D'Alessandro stopped 53 of 54 shots as he nearly got the shutout.
The RiverDogs will take tomorrow off for Thanksgiving before facing the same Trashers side again at the Richmond Coliseum on Friday night with the puck drop at 7:35 pm. It is Richmond Times-Dispatch Family 4 Pack night. For only $44, fans get 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas and coupons from Chipolte, G-Force Racing, Tropical Smoothie and skate passes from Skate Nation Plus. On Saturday, when the RiverDogs play host to Roanoke Valley, it is PACK THE POUND NIGHT. Fans can get upper bowl tickets for only $6.00 and every fan in attendance will receive a Chapstick, courtesy of WYETH. As the fans leave the Coliseum, each will receive a FOX SOCK. Fans are asked to take the sock and fill it with Christmas goodies and the socks will be collected on the Friday, December 2 game. The Socks will be distributed to the needy children in the Greater Richmond area.
