
RiverDogs training camp underway

Richmond RiverDogs News Release
The Richmond RiverDogs started their one-ice preparations for the 2004-05 season Monday with the first practice of training camp. The âDogs will play one pre-season game, Saturday in Roanoke vs. Missouri. Richmond opens the regular season Friday, October 15 vs. Port Huron at 7:35 PM.

GAME NOTES: The âDogs and River Otters face off at the Roanoke Civic Center in the âDogs only pre-season game. The two clubs did not meet last season and will not square off in the regular season this year. The River Otters were 17-51-8 last season. Kevin Kaminski is the new head coach in Missouri.
DOG BITES: The âDogs opened training camp with 18 players on hand (12 forwards, four defensemen, and two goalies). Mark Langdon is still in camp with Rochester of the AHL. Pascal Morency, who's UHL rights belong to the âDogs, is in camp with Wilkes-Barre of the AHL. As expected, Paul Johnson (likely retiring to take a job with the Winnipeg Police Department) and Jordan Roach (playing in the North American League in Quebec) did not report and were placed on the suspended list. The âDogs waived goaltender Steve Vallee. Six âDogs are back from last season: David Brosseau, Francis Belanger, J.J. Wrobel, J.F. Picard, Brian Goudie, and Luch Nasato. The âDogs have the UHL limit seven veterans on the roster (Brian Goudie, Trevor Senn, Mark Turner, Jamie Yoder, Luch Nasato, David Hymovitz, and David Brosseau). There are five rookies in camp (Andrew Sharp, Justin Quenneville, Chad Wilson, Sean Keane, and Ryan McIntosh). The âDogs open the regular season with three straight home games, then play six of seven on the road.
