The Richmond RiverDogs are now 17-16-2 after going 2-2 last week. The ‘Dogs are in a third place tie with Elmira in the Eastern Division. The ‘Dogs are home Wednesday and Sunday this week.

THE WEEK AHEAD (ALL TIMES EASTERN)

Wednesday, January 5 vs. Muskegon 7:35 PM GAME NOTES: The first of two meetings and the Fury's only trip to Richmond this season. Muskegon is the defending Colonial Cup champion. ‘Dogs were 2-1 vs. Muskegon last season, 2-0 at home. Fury is in first place in the Central Division and has a three game winning streak.

Friday, January 7 @ Elmira 7:30 PM GAME NOTES: The 11th of 17 meetings and the seventh of nine in Elmira. ‘Dogs are 5-5 vs. the Jackals, 3-3 at Elmira. Francis Belanger has 10 points vs. the Jackals. Jason Sessa has 19 points vs. the ‘Dogs. Elmira is 17-54 (31.2%) on the power play vs. Richmond.

Saturday, January 8 @ Adirondack 7:05 PM GAME NOTES: The 10th of 17 meetings and the fourth of nine in Richmond. The ‘Dogs are 5-3-1 vs. the Frostbite, 2-1 at home. Mark Turner has 13 points vs. the Frostbite, including a pair of last-minute, game-tying goals. Justin Kelly has 13 points vs. Richmond.

Sunday, January 9 vs. Elmira 5:05 PM GAME NOTES: The 12th of 17 meetings and the fifth of eight in Richmond. ‘Dogs are 2-2 vs. Elmira at home. The ‘Dogs begin a seven game homestand. The fifth meeting between the clubs in 19 days.

Wednesday, December 29 @ Adirondack WIN 8-3 GAME NOTES: The ‘Dogs blew the game open with four first period goals and coasted to the win. Jonathan Gagnon had two goals and an assist. Ryan Prentice had four assists. David Hymovitz had three assists. Kyle Sheen and Luch Nasato had a goal and an assist.

Friday, December 31 vs. Danbury WIN 3-2 GAME NOTES: The ‘Dogs won their third straight, rallying from a 1-0 deficit. Mark Turner and Mike Dombkiewicz had a goal and assist. Ryan McIntosh made 32 saves and had an assist. The ‘Dogs were 2-6 on the power play, snapping a three game loosing streak vs. Danbury

Saturday, January 1 @ Danbury LOSS 3-1 GAME NOTES: The Trashers pounded ‘Dogs goalie Ryan McIntosh with 62 shots on goal. Still the ‘Dogs carried a 1-0 lead into the middle of the third period. Danbury erupted for three goals in just over nine minutes. Blake Bellefeuille scored twice for the Trashers, including an empty-netter.

Sunday, January 2 @ Elmira LOSS 8-4 GAME NOTES: The Jackals shattered a two-all tie with six second period goals. Jamie Thompson had a hat trick and Jason Sessa had two goals and two assists to lead the Jackals. Elmira was 3-6 on the power play. David Dartsch had the ‘Dogs first "Gordie Howe" hat trick (goal, assist, fight) of the season.

DOG BITES: The 'Dogs third three game winning streak of the season (which equals a season high) ended Saturday. The 'Dogs equaled a club record with their eight goal outburst at Adirondack Wednesday. Mike Dombkiewicz has points in three straight games. Richmond completed a stretch of 11 games in 19 days Sunday. The 'Dogs play 12 games in the first 22 days of January. Richmond will finish a stretch of 12 out of 16 games on the road this Saturday. The 62 shots allowed by the 'Dogs Saturday in Danbury is a club record and a UHL season high. Ryan McIntosh made a club record 59 saves, also a UHL season high, in that game. The 'Dogs lost when leading after two periods for the first time this season Saturday in Danbury. That game also ended a four game road unbeaten streak vs. Eastern Division clubs. Richmond has played four straight games short-benched. Mark Turner's four game scoring streak ended Sunday vs. Elmira. Francis Belanger's three game scoring streak ended Saturday vs. Danbury. David Hymovitz three game scoring streak ended Sunday vs. Elmira. Ryan McIntosh has started four straight games in net for the 'Dogs. David Dartsch came out of retirement to join the 'Dogs in Danbury. He had the 'Dogs first "Gordie Howe" hat trick of the season Sunday vs. Elmira (goal, assist, and fight). Simo Pulkki scored his first goal as a 'Dog Wednesday vs. Adirondack. The 'Dogs have been out-shot in four straight games. David Hymovitz is tied for 13th in the league in scoring. Trevor Senn is second in penalty minutes and third in majors. Mark Turner is tied for second in shorthanded goals. Kyle Sheen leads UHL rookies in penalty minutes and is second in game-winning goals by a rookie.
