Hogs pick up five of six points against divisional opponents

Another winning week for the Rockford IceHogs kept them close in the Western Division. The IceHogs picked up a pair of wins during Week 12, including a 4-1 victory over the Fort Wayne Komets in which goalie Michel Robinson became the fourth UHL goaltender to score a goal. Week 13 has a pair of home games on the schedule including a showdown and first ever visit by the Danbury Trashers Saturday.

Transactions

-Forward Joe Pace was placed on team suspension on Monday, December 27.

-The IceHogs acquired goaltender Marty Magers from Quad City for future considerations on Thursday, December 30.

-Winger Terry Harrison was returned to Rockford from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Friday, December 31.

-Winger Mike Reimann was signed on Friday, December 31.

-Forward Andy Disch was signed on Friday, December 31.

-Winger Frankie Allen was waived on Friday, December 31.

Bacon Bits:

Goaltender Michel Robinson became the fourth goalie in UHL history to score a goal on Wednesday against Fort Wayne.

Robinson has appeared in 19 straight games for the IceHogs.

The IceHogs set a franchise record with 103 PIM's against Muskegon on Friday night.

Rockford combined for just 13 PIM's the following two games, including a season low two against Missouri Sunday.

Center J.C. Ruid has a goal in four straight games, scoring a total of six tallies during his stretch.

Rockford's 9-4-2 road record is the top win percentage away from home in the UHL.

Center Olivier Proulx paced the IceHogs offense in December, scoring 7g-7a-14pts and four game winning goals. The franchise record for most game winning goals in a season is six.

Winger Eric Labelle broke the IceHogs single season penalty minute record on Wednesday, 35 games into the season. At week's end, Labelle had 259 PIM's.

Rockford has as many short-handed goals (two) in their last four games as power play goals (2-24, 8.3%).

The IceHogs have outscored the opposition 43-24 in the third period this season.

Rockford finished December 8-6-1, the top December record in franchise history. Coming into the season, Rockford's overall December record was 23-42-5.

Hot Hog: Week 12

Center J.C. Ruid: Rockford's leading goal scorer lit six lamps during the UHL's 12 week. In four games last week, Ruid had 6g-1a-7pts with a plus/minus rating of +2 and had two short-handed goals leading Rockford to a 2-1-1 week. Ruid now has 21 goals for the season.

Friday, January 7 vs. Kansas City Outlaws: Game time is 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs welcome the Outlaws back to the MetroCentre for the third time this season. The first 2,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs Tumbler Mug courtesy of McDonalds.

Saturday, January 8 vs. Danbury Trashers: Start time is 7:05 p.m. The Trashers make their first ever visit to the Rockford MetroCentre in the teams only regular season meeting during the 2004-05 season. The first 1,000 fans to the rink will receive an IceHogs Smash Hit Hockey Poster #4 from Medicine Man, Johnson Press, Pepsi, Rockford Register Star and 96.7 FM The Eagle.
