TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The fourth of four meetings and the third and final here. The ‘Dogs are 1-1-1 vs. Port Huron, 1-0-1 here. David Brosseau has six points vs. the Beacons. Josh Tataryn and Aaron Brand have five vs. the ‘Dogs. Port Huron is 6-20 on the power play vs. Richmond. The ‘Dogs are third in the East, two points behind Flint and Missouri in the wild card chase. Port Huron is fourth in the Central. They are nine points behind Flint.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Dogs lost 6-1 at Danbury Saturday. Richmond grabbed a 1-0 lead just 14 seconds into the game, but the Trashers took the lead with two second period goals and blew the game open with three in the third. Mike Bayrack had two goals and an assist for Danbury. The Beacons lost 4-3 at Kansas City Sunday. The Outlaws scored twice on the power play and added a shorthanded goal while out-shooting Port Huron 43-31. David Beauregard scored twice for the Beacons.

'DOG BITES: Nathan Grobins was named the UHL Goalie of the Month for January. The ‘Dogs have acquired defenseman Dennis Vial from Missouri for defenseman Mike Dombkiewicz. Vial is expected to join the ‘Dogs lineup this weekend. The 'Dogs fourth three game winning streak of the year ended Saturday. Richmond has yet to win four straight. The 'Dogs went 2-1 on a three game road trip. They open a six game homestand tonight. Grobins seven game unbeaten streak in net for the 'Dogs ended Saturday. Richmond has killed off 17 straight opponents power plays. The 'Dogs are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games while holding opponents to 23 goals in that span. Grobins ran off 119:36 consecutive shutout minutes in a streak that ended in the second period Friday. The ‘Dogs are 4-4-1 vs. the Central Division. The ‘Dogs are -25 in the second period this season. David Hymovitz five game scoring streak ended Saturday. Ryan Prentice four game scoring streak ended Friday. Luch Nasato's three game point scoring streak ended Friday. Brian Goudie's goal 14 seconds into the first period Saturday was the 'Dogs fastest goal to start a game this season. Grobins has started four straight games in net. David Hymovitz is 10th in the league in scoring. Mark Turner is 20th in points. Trevor Senn is third in the league in penalty minutes. Senn and Derek Schutz remain on IR. Grobins is tied for fifth in the league in shutouts. Kyle Sheen leads the UHL in rookie penalty minutes.

BEACONS NOTES: David Beauregard leads the UHL in goals and is tied for 12th in the league in points. The Beacons are 18-10-1 after a 2-12-1 start. The Beacons have lost five of their last seven games. The Beacons are 1-2 three games into an eight game road trip. Port Huron is 5-2-2 vs. the Eastern Division. This is the first of four straight games vs. the East. The Beacons do not have a shorthanded goal this season.
