\'Dogs Grobins UHL Goaltender of the Month

Richmond, VA – Richmond RiverDogs goalie Nathan Grobins has been named the United Hockey League Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Month for January. Grobins joined the ‘Dogs in January from Winston-Salem of the SPHL and was unbeaten in his first seven starts.

In eight January starts Grobins was 6-1-1 with a 1.75 goals against average and a save percentage of .943. Grobins notched three shutouts in his first six starts with the ‘Dogs. His shutout run reached 119:34 consecutive minutes.

Grobins is in his 13th pro season. The Houston, BC native has spent most of his pro career in the Central League. He was team MVP with Wichita last season.

Wednesday, February 9 NASCAR driver and 2004 Rookie of the Year Kasey Kahne will be on hand as the ‘Dogs face the Danbury Trashers at 7:35 PM. The ‘Dogs will wear racing themed jerseys autographed by Kahne that will be auctioned off following the game. There will also be a pre-game VIP party with Kahne.
