River Riders Name Maya Mathis as New General Manager

ELIZABETHTON, TN - Boyd Sports, LLC has announced that Maya Mathis will be the general manager of the Elizabethton River Riders, effective today.

Mathis spent the previous season with the River Riders as the assistant general manager. Before the Chattanooga native's entrance into the Boyd Sports family, she worked with Bristol Motor Speedway and East Tennessee State University.

"What an honor to be appointed as the general manager of the Elizabethton River Riders," Mathis said. "I am blessed to have this opportunity! I will devote my service and energy to the River Riders community, focusing on the creation of a dynamic family friendly experience at our ballpark. Thank you, Boyd Sports, for entrusting me to lead the River Riders organization to success both now and in the future. The passion I see in this community serves as an inspiration and motivation to make this organization great."

While attending East Tennessee State, Mathis obtained a bachelor's degree in physical education and a Masters degree in sports management. She was also a member of the East Tennessee State softball team. Before attending East Tennessee State, Mathis attended the University of Tennessee and was a member of the Lady Vols softball team.

"I am very proud to announce Maya as our new general manager," added Boyd Sports vice president Jeremy Boler. "Maya did a great job this year as the assistant general manager and she really led by example. We were lucky to get her a year ago and I'm very happy we locked her in for the future. We are looking forward to her leading the franchise."
