METAIRIEâ Chad Harville pitched two innings in relief striking out five to lead the Sacramento River Cats (60-37) over the New Orleans Zephyrs (52-44) 3 to2 on Saturday Night at Zephyr Field.
The Zephyrs scored first with a run in the second as Jason Alfaro led off with a double. After Eric Cole fouled out, Alfaro stole third and scored on a groundout from Kyle Logan. The River Cats tied the game with a run in the fourth off Z's starter Bob Scanlan. Bobby Crosby walked with one out. Crosby stole second which was followed by a w2alk to Luis Lopez and Jose Flores to load the bases. Crosby scored on a fly out by Michael Lockwood.
Sacramento took the lead for good with a run in the seventh as former Zephyr Chris Prieto scored on a single from Lopez. Harville picked up his 16th save of the season striking out five in two innings of work. Frank Castillo (4-4) picked up the win pitching seven innings allowing one run on three hits. Mike Venafro (0-1) suffered the loss pitching 2/3 innings allowing one run on two hits.
The series with the River Cats concludes on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. Sunday is Hibernia Kids Day and Fuji Film Fest. Fans can go field from 4:00 PM. to 4:30 PM. and take pictures with Zephyrs players. Jared Fernandez (6-8, 3.89) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs and Erik Hiljus (9-6, 5.20) for the River Cats.
