San Diego Riptide News Release
SAN DIEGO, Calif. â The San Diego Riptide activated WR/DB Deondre Alexander from injured reserve and placed OL/DL Dustin Rykert on injured reserve this week.
Alexander was assigned to the Riptide in Week 12 and is yet to play a game for the Riptide due to injury. He has practiced with the team and looks to get a chance to showcase his talents against the Blizzard this Saturday. Rykert was placed on short-term injured reserve with an ankle injury. He is expected to be out for the rest of the season. FB/LB Matt Guardia, who was placed on short-term injured reserve last week, is expected to return to play in Week 17 against the Bakersfield Blitz.
The starting quarterback for Saturday's game will be Kevin Feterik. Feterik started last week against the Central Valley Coyotes after Kane Claunch's struggling performance in Week 14 and 15. Feterik has played in three games this season and has seven touchdowns on the season. He has completed 31-of-46 passes for a total 330 yards.
The Riptide return home July 24th to take on the Bakersfield Blitz. They will be holding a "Riptide Tackle Hunger" food drive in association with the San Diego Food Bank and the first 3,000 fans will recieve an authentic t-shirt.
