Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Blitz (9-4) of the af2 are in first place and looking to seal up the West Division title this weekend when then Central Valley Coyotes (1-12) come to town for a 7:00 p.m. kick off.
The first 2,000 fans 12 and under will receive a Chad Elliott Bobblehead Doll sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Del Taco. Elliott is one of the top quarterbacks in the af2, and last week was named the Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Game for the fifth time this season.
In addition to the bobblehead sponsorship, Del Taco is handing out $5 gift certificates for use at Kern County locations to the first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles. The famous Del Taco Dan from their television commercials will be in the house as well to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
The first-ever Foam Football Fling will be held on Saturday. Fans are encouraged to bring a foam football or other foam ball to the game, and when the Blitz scores their first touchdown of the night, throw them onto the field. The foam footballs will be collected and donated to the Bakersfield Police Activities League and other local children's charities. KGET-TV 17 sponsors the Foam Football Fling.
Saturday's game also features an opportunity to pick up a Blitz game worn jersey from last season. There will be a silent jersey auction of Blitz jerseys from the 2003 af2 campaign. The jerseys will be located throughout the concourse, giving fans the chance to put down a bid throughout the game. All bidding will end at the start of the fourth quarter. The funds raised will be split between two organizations: the Epilepsy Society (through the Haylee's Hope program, established for Blitz Coach Paul Press' daughter Haylee) and the Center for Craniofacial Disorders, an organization founded in part by Blitz Owner Jonathan Fleisig.

Extra Points: The Blitz has a chance to clinch not only a playoff berth this weekend, but the division title with a little bit of help. A victory by Bakersfield and a loss by Hawaii (who hosts the Midwest Division leading Louisville Fire) would lock up the West Division title and at the very least the #3 seed in the National Conference. Each of the top four seeds will host at least one playoff game... The Blitz come into this week ranked 7th in the weekly poll of af2 coaches.
