Columbus, Ohio - Scott Wietecha scored two goals and added one assist as the host RoughRiders set a team record with 60 set shots on goal in 7-4 win over the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets Friday night.

The Riders, who allowed just 14 shots on the night, also established a club record for most shots in one period by pumping 30 at Ohio goaltender Troy Redmann in the opening 20 minutes. Surprisingly then, it was the Blue Jackets who opened the scoring on Adam Comrie's power play goal at 13:45 of the first.

The Riders would battle back to take the lead with a pair of first period goals of their own. Cedar Rapids was ona two man advantage when Wietecha snapped the puck home from the blue line at 17:00. Then, with just over ten seconds left in the period, the Riders took the lead for the first time when Rob Bordson buried a rebound from the doorstep.

The Riders were again on the power play when Evan Stephens converted another rebound at 10:07 of the second period to stretch the lead to 3-1.

The Blue Jackets narrowed the gap to 3-2 when Dan Barczuk scored from the goal mouth just one minute and 15 seconds later. That goal was just the first in what proved to be a run of five in five minutes and 57 seconds.

It was the Riders who struck next, making it 4-2 when Robin Bergman backhanded Andy Miele's centering past Redmann at 14:11.

The Riders were up 5-2 after Doug Jones charged down the slot and tipped a Mike Seidel feed over Redmann at the 17:18 mark of the second.

The Blue Jackets were undeterred, however, as they pulled back within one by scoring twice in 23 seconds.

At 17:56 Danny Hobbs' scored Ohio's third goal on a wraparound.

At 18:19 of the second Charles Brocket flipped the puck in from just inside the Rider blue line to make it 5-4.

The momentum shifted again in the third period as the Riders put Ohio away with a pair of power play goals.

Wietecha's close range goal opened up the gap to 6-4 at 4:23 and Cannone's blast from the left wing circle provided the final margin at 7:28.
