Riders Make Roster Moves

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club announced today they have acquired import offensive lineman Cliff Washburn from the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for the Riders fifth round selection in the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft and a conditional pick in the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft. The team also announced they have signed import kicker/punter Louie Sakoda to the practice roster.

Washburn (6'6 - 300 lbs) started regular season games and the East Final for Toronto in 2006. He spent the past two seasons with Chicago, Denver, Green Bay and Houston of the NFL. Prior to joining the Argonauts, Washburn spent time in NFL Europe and played four seasons at The Citadel.

Sakoda (5'9 - 175 lbs) earned All-American honors in his final two seasons at Utah. He is only the second player to be named as a Ray Guy and Lou Groza Award finalist for the top punter and kicker in the NCAA. He connected on 22 of 24 field goals as a senior and led the nation in punting as a junior.
