Nearly a month into the 2009-2010 season, the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are holding strong with a 5-1 record, and they are gearing up for another home stand at The Stable this weekend, with hopes of adding another 2 wins to that record.
On Saturday, October 24th , The Riders will take on Team USA - new to the USHL this season. This year marks the second foray for Team USA into the United States' top league as a full-time member. They were previously a part of the USHL in the 1998-99 and 1999-00 seasons. After this weekend's home stand, the Riders have a low-key week of practice, with no away games until they travel to Chicago for a rematch on Friday, October 30 th , with the team who seems to be their toughest competitor so far this season. And on Halloween, both the Riders and the Chicago Steel head back westward to play each other again on the night of Saturday, October 31 st at The Stable.
This Halloween game will be one that fans won't want to miss - with activities such as a costume contest for both adults and children, Trick-or-Treat bags for the first 250 kids in the door, and a post-game skate with the team.
Episode 4 of the RiderTown, USA Hockey Show will also be taping directly after the Halloween game, during the post-game skate - so there is a lot going on for anyone who wants to come out to The Stable on October 31 st.
