Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI - Owen White matched his personal best with seven innings pitched Wednesday night, leading Frisco to a 9-0 win over Corpus Christi before 3,035 fans at Whataburger Field.
The effort spoiled a sturdy start by Colton Gordon, who spread three runs and three hits over five innings of work. Gordon struck out six and walked two, with the lefty sporting a 3.78 ERA over 11 appearances.
The Riders turned a 3-0 contest into a rout with three-spots in the eighth and ninth.
White, who retired the first 10 men he faced, faced just two over the minimum.
All three of the Hooks hits were doubles, with Chad Stevens recording a pair. Zach Daniels, who has hit safely in five of six games, belted a two-bagger to left-center in the ninth.
