
Riders Add Experienced Linebacker

Today, the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club announced the signing of import linebacker Bernard Russ. Details of the contract were not released.
Russ has spent the past few seasons between the NFL and NFL Europe. Russ started his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens, then moved onto the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys. Russ also spent a season with the Scottish Claymores of the NFL Europe. The standout from West Virginia recorded 88 defensive tackles and earned All-Big East honours as a senior.

COLLEGE: Spent four seasons at West Virginia...led the Mountaineers as a senior with 88 defensive tackles and earned All-Big East honours...recorded 11 tackleS in the Gator Bowl and won "Gridiron Gladiator Award" for on-field intensity from WV coaches...finished second on team with 78 tackles as a junior...transferred to West Virginia from Arizona Western JC after earning JUCO All-American honours.
