Riders acquire Joran Rempel from Hamilton

Saskatchewan Roughrider head coach Ken Miller announced today the Roughriders have acquired non-import offensive lineman Jordan Rempel and Hamilton's second round pick in the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft (9th overall). In return, the Roughriders traded import offensive lineman Dan Goodspeed and a 5th round pick in the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft (previously acquired from Winnipeg).

Rempel (6'6 - 322 lbs) dressed in 11 games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2008 and spent three games on their four man reserve roster. He was originally selected by the Tiger-Cats in the second round (12th overall) of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft.

Rempel played three seasons with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and was named the Huskies Outstanding Lineman after the 2007 season. The Caronport, Saskatchewan native was named a CIS First Team All-Canadian and Canada West All-Star at Offensive Tackle following the 2007 season. In addition he was named the 2007 Canada West Outstanding Lineman and was a nominee for the CIS J.P. Metras nominee.
