Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

Saskatchewan Roughrider Chairman Garry Huntington announced today that he will not seek re-election to the team's Board of Directors.

Huntington will remain as the Roughriders' Chairman of the Board until a new board is elected at the club's annual general meeting on April 16th. After a new board is in place, it will in turn select a new chairperson.

Huntington was the driving force behind the organization's $9 million revitalization plan to Taylor Field. Over the next few years, fans entering Taylor Field can expect to see significant improvements to the east side of the stadium, a new video board, sound system, Rider Store, and Green & White Lounge.

"I have had a wonderful opportunity to be part of the team that successfully restructured the financial foundation of the club and initiated the exciting changes for Taylor Field," stated Huntington. "I have been a Roughrider volunteer for over 20 years and now it is time for me to focus on my family and just be a fan."

Huntington has been a member of the Roughriders' management committee and Board of Directors since 2000 and assumed Chairman of the Board responsibilities in August, 2004.
