St. John's IceCaps News Release


BACK IN ACTION: St. John's returned to the ice after a nine-day holiday break to split a series in Toronto against the Marlies over the weekend. The IceCaps continues their road trip on Wednesday in Rochester.

WEEKEND OF FIRSTS: Forwards Lucas Lessio and Michael Bournival both picked up their first goal as IceCaps this past weekend in Toronto.

PLAYER SWAP: Defenceman Mark Barberio got the call to join the Habs in Tampa Bay on Sunday evening. Angelo Miceli, Tim Bozon, and Dalton Thrower were reassigned to the Brampton Beast on Sunday morning.

The IceCaps fell to the Marlies at the Air Canada Centre. Lucas Lessio and Darren Dietz scored for St. John's, but they couldn't hold off Toronto as they scored an empty netter to stretch the lead to three. Stefan Fournier and Bud Holloway picked up assists in the loss.

St. John's came out on top of a back and forth scoring battle against the Toronto at the Ricoh Coliseum. Michael Bournival, Bud Holloway and Gabriel Dumont each had a goal and an assist in the win, while Joel Hanley and Jacob de la Rose added markers for the IceCaps.
