Tulsa Oilers News Release

Tulsa Oilers defenseman Robin Richards always made sure opponents took notice of him on the ice and the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League definitely did.

Peoria, the top affiliate of the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues, has signed Richards to a two way contract, which will have him available to the Rivermen and Alaska Aces of the ECHL.

"Robin definitely showed he'd do whatever was asked of him last season, and it's great he gets rewarded with this opportunity," Oilers head coach Dan Hodge said. Hodge played for Peoria's ECHL championship team in 2000. "I think it also demonstrates a lot of people in the hockey world are paying close attention to what we have going on here in Tulsa."

Richards, who also plays left wing, appeared in 48 games for the Oilers after joining the team from Odessa. He finished the season with one goal and five assists and was third in the CHL with 299 penalty minutes. His 31 major penalties led the league.

The Oilers will play their first home game in the BOK Center, on Saturday October 25^th , against the arch rival Oklahoma City Blazers. Season tickets for the Oilers 2008-09 season in the new BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
