Back Porch Restaurant to host 'Breakfast with Stomp'

Amarillo, TX 9/8/08 - Fans of the Amarillo Gorillas are encouraged to attend the first annual "Breakfast with Stomp", to take place at the Back Porch Restaurant in Amarillo. The event will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 13 and last until noon.
Attendees will be able to get their picture taken with the Gorillas mascot from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. In addition, those visiting the restaurant during this time will have the advantage of indulging in various Gorillas-themed menu items. Such items (only available during the "Breakfast with Stomp" promotion) will include banana waffles and delicious banana pancakes.
"We are excited about the opportunity to host the first-ever 'Breakfast with Stomp'," said Merle Price, who along with his wife Ruth runs the Back Porch. "This will be the first time we have ever had a gorilla dine in the restaurant, and we plan on welcoming Stomp with open arms."
This first-ever opportunity for Gorillas fans will include various give-aways by both the Gorillas and the Back Porch. Members of the Gorillas front office will be on hand to award certain lucky diners with various memorabilia, including signed pucks, posters, and a game-used stick from the 2007-08 season. The Back Porch will give away gift certificates during the promotion as well.
It will be a busy weekend for the Gorillas in the Amarillo community, as the team will also be on hand at Tripp's Harley-Davidson for the "9-11 Bike Show" on Saturday, September 13. The festivities will begin at 1:00 PM, and include an afternoon appearance by Stomp and the display of the "Silver Dollar".
