Windsor Spitfires News Release

(Windsor) Spitfires' right-winger Richard Greenop is the Windsor Spitfires Player of the Week as selected by the team's coaching staff for the week ending Sunday, February 15th. Greenop scored one goal and added one assist for two points in three games played last week, while posting a +2 plus-minus rating in leading the Spitfires to a perfect 3-0 record.

Greenop was held pointless but provided the Spitfires with a physical presence on both ends of the ice in Windsor's 5-3 victory over the Guelph Storm on February 10th. Two nights later, he assisted on the game tying goal and played a solid two-way game in Windsor's 4-3 overtime victory versus the Sarnia Sting before scoring one goal in the Spitfires 5-1 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds the next night.

The 19 year-old Bowmanville, ON native was drafted by the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A.

The CHL's top-ranked team will welcome the Erie Otters to Windsor and the WFCU Centre on Thursday, February 19th. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
