COLLEGE PARK, Ga.- In a game featuring 3-point shooting superstars like Courtney Vandersloot and Sabrina Ionescu, Rhyne Howard made sure it was her behind-the-arc performance Atlanta Dream fans remembered.

In the middle of the third quarter of Friday's Atlanta Dream game Howard, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, became the fastest player in league history to make 100 3-pointers.

She scored her 100th from deep in her 40th WNBA game, just barely beating the pace of 41 games set by Hall of Famer Cynthia Cooper in 1998.

Howard was humble when speaking about her feat, which was soured by a 106-83 loss to the Liberty.

"Okay, I made history," she said. "But I don't really think about that during the game. I was just pumped by the fact that we were locking down our defense and we were cutting down that lead."

However, Coach Tanisha Wright didn't let her sophomore sensation go without praise.

"There's always things you can celebrate, and that's definitely one of them," Wright said.

Howard and the Dream play the final of a five-game homestand June 11 when they host the Connecticut Sun."
