Chicago Sky News Release
CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky announced today that the team signed center Khaalia (KYE-la) Hillsman and forward Taylor Soule (SOUL) to hardship contracts.
The Sky were granted the ability to add Soule and Hillsman via hardship due to the injuries to Isabelle Harrison and Rebekah Gardner as well as the injury to Morgan Bertsch and the absence of Kristine Anigwe, who is the designated pregnancy/childbirth replacement player for Ruthy Hebard. One of the two hardship contracts will be terminated when the team has at least ten available players. The other hardship contract will be terminated with the return of either Harrison or Gardner.
Soule, who was selected No. 28 overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft by Minnesota, appeared in both preseason games for the Lynx and finished with 12 points, four rebounds and two steals in 35 total minutes of play. The 5'11' forward played two years at Boston College before transferring to Virginia Tech for the 2022-23 season. With the Hokies, she was named Second Team All-ACC, ACC's All-Tournament Second Team and earned ACC All-Academic Team recognition for the second time in 2023.
Hillsman appeared in training camp stints with Connecticut (2023), Atlanta (2022) and Seattle (2018). Most recently, the Chicago native played overseas with Turkish club Antalya 07, where she averaged 18.6 points, 12.1 rebounds in 35.4 minutes.
Soule will wear No. 7 and Hillsman will wear No. 00.Please see attached for an updated Chicago Sky roster and spotter chart.
