KODAK, Tenn. - The Chicago Cubs announced several transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies. RHP Nick Struck has been placed on the Smokies active roster and is scheduled to be the starting pitcher for Tennessee on Saturday. In a corresponding move, LHP Zac Rosscup has been promoted to the Class AAA Iowa Cubs.

The Smokies roster is now at 25 active players, which is the Southern League maximum.

Struck, 23, comes to Tennessee from Iowa where he started the 2013 campaign. With the I-Cubs, he was 6-8 with a 6.17 ERA (75 ER/109.1 IP) in 22 appearances (20 starts). The right-hander is no stranger to East Tennessee, having spent parts of the 2011-12 seasons with the Smokies. Last season, Struck led the Southern League with 14 wins, which guided him to Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Year honors. The Damascus, Ore. native was selected by the Cubs in the 39th round of the 2009 draft out of Mt. Hood (Ore.) Community College.

Rosscup, 25, was 2-1 with three saves and a 2.49 ERA (12 ER/43.1 IP) in 37 relief appearances for the Smokies this season. The Clackamas, Ore. native was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 28th round of the 2009 draft, then traded to the Cubs, along with RHP Matt Garza and OF Fernando Perez for RHP Chris Archer, C Robinson Chirinos, INF Hak-Ju Lee, OF Sam Fuld and OF Brandon Guyer.
