RHP Chris Beck Promoted to Charlotte

The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP Chris Beck has been promoted to Class AAA Charlotte. Roster at 24.

Beck, 23, was previously promoted to Charlotte on June 26th where he made one spot start against the Louisville Bats allowing five runs over 4.2 IP in a loss to the Louisville Bats. He was transferred back to Birmingham following the game.

He entered the 2014 season ranked by Baseball America as the No. 9 Prospect in the White Sox organization. In 20 starts with the Barons this season, Beck went 5-8 with a 3.39 ERA (44 ER/116.2 IP) while ranking eighth in the Southern League in ERA.

Beck joined the Barons on August 6, 2013 and went 2-2 with a 2.89 ERA (9 ER/28.0 IP) in five regular season starts. He was instrumental in the Barons run to the 2013 Southern League Championship going 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA (1 ER/11.0 IP) in two postseason starts.
