MOBILE, ALA. (JULY 28, 2014) - After dropping the first two games of the series, the Generals (17-20, 48-58) scored three in the fourth and four in the sixth to defeat Mobile (22-14, 64-41), 8-4 on Monday at Hank Aaron Stadium. Jackson's offense was back on track with 12 hits as Steve Baron (3x4, R, RBI, BB) led the way with three hits for his first multi-hit game in a General uniform. Brock Hebert (2x5, R, 3 RBI) had his first three-RBI performance. Jordy Lara (0x2, R, 3 BB) did not have a hit in his Double-A debut, but was issued three walks on the night.

Starter Stephen Landazuri (W, 6-2) won his third straight start Monday and became Jackson's first six-game winner on the hill this season.

Jackson surrendered the early lead for the third straight night as Mobile picked up a second inning run without recording a hit. Ryan Court walked to lead off the bottom of the inning, advanced to second on a wild pitch, moved to third on a groundout by Mark Thomas and scored on a Todd Glaesmann sacrifice fly for the early 1-0 lead.

The Generals came back two innings later with authority. With one out, Jackson loaded the bases with walks to Lara and Dan Paolini (0x4, R, BB). Kevin Rivers (1x4, 2 R) was hit by a pitch. Baron followed with a single to bring in Lara and tie the game at 1-1. Hebert followed with a double to score Paolini and Rivers and the lead swelled to 3-1 at that point.

Mobile was not done yet offensively as Jon Griffin doubled and scored on another sacrifice fly, this time by Mark Thomas to cut the lead to 3-2.

Jackson's offense exploded again in the sixth as with nobody out and two on Hebert picked up his first three RBI-game as a General with a base hit that scored Rivers to increase the lead to 4-2. Leon Landry (2x4, 2 R, RBI) followed with another RBI single and Baron crossed the plate. After a pitching change Hebert crossed the plate on a throwing error by reliever Willy Paredes, then Ketel Marte (1x5, RBI) followed with his 25th double of the season that scored Landry and the lead was 7-2 after the top of the sixth.

Glaesmann walked to begin the bottom of the seventh and scored on a triple from Evan Marzilli to cut the lead to 7-3, but that was short lived.

Landry led off the eighth with a triple and crossed the plate on Dario Pizzano's (1x4, RBI, BB) two out infield single to increase the lead back to a comfortable five runs, 8-3.

Zach Borenstein hit a one out solo home run in the ninth to close the gap to 8-4, but that is as close as Mobile came to the Generals. Mayckol Guaipe (1-2, 8 SV, 2.42) was able to finish them off in the final 1.1 innings and earned his eighth save of the season.

Stephen Landazuri (6-2, 3.26) became Jackson's first six-game winner as he shut down the BayBear bats, allowing just two runs on two hits in 6.0 innings of work. He did walk four, but was able to work out of big trouble as he struck out three as Mobile went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base. A.J. Schugel (4-2, 3.75) took the loss for Mobile.

As the temperature cooled due to a rainstorm in the area, the Jackson bats warmed up to a scorching pace as they once again achieved double-digit hits with 12, also going 6-for-14 with runners in scoring position, and every General in the order reached base safely.

The Generals will attempt draw even in the series Tuesday against the BayBears at Hank Aaron Stadium. Jackson will have righty Victor Sanchez (5-4, 3.76) on the mound as Bradin Hagens (8-5, 4.33) will make the start for Mobile. The game will begin at 7:05 p.m. and can be heard on 96.5 ESPN, TuneIn Radio and jacksongeneralsbaseball.com.
