(Calgary) – Today Calgary Stampeders' Head Coach and VP of Football Operations Tom Higgins announced the re-signing of Running Back Joffrey Reynolds.

As per Club policy terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"In 5 games Joffrey proved he has the attributes to be a star in the Canadian Football League. We are excited about his long term commitment to the City of Calgary and the Stampeder Football Club," stated GM in charge of Player Personnel Jim Barker.

"I am thrilled to re-sign with Calgary. Since the day I joined the Stampeders, I felt extremely comfortable with the organization and community. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season and contributing both on and off the field," stated Joffrey Reynolds.

Entering his second season with the Stampeders ... re-signed on February 1st, 2005 ... originally signed with the Stampeders on September 13, 2004 ... was released by the New York Giants on September 5, 2004 ... signed with the Giants back on August 9, 2004 ... on January 2, 2004 he was signed by the Cleveland Browns who allocated him to NFL Europe on February 6, 2004 ... back on May 1, 2003 Reynolds signed with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent ... he was released on August 31, 2003 and signed to the practice squad ... he would be activated for 4 games and later released on November 5, 2003.

2004

Signed with the New York Giants on August 9th ... released on September 5th ... signed with the Stampeders just past mid-season on September 13th ... played his first CFL game on September 24th vs the B.C. Lions ... played in the final 5 regular season games averaging 99 yards per game ... had a breakout game on October 16th vs the eventual Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts ... rushing the ball 23 times for 189 yards for an impressive 8.2 yards per carry and was named offensive player of the week ... finished the season rushing the ball 90 times for 497 yards and 2 touchdowns ... also recorded 6 catches for 58 yards.

2003

Played in four games with the St. Louis Rams ... he recorded 6 kick returns for 109 yards for an average of 18.2 yards with his longest 25 yards ... he would also record 1 tackle in the four games ... on October 19 he would return 2 kick-offs for 36 yards against the Green Bay Packers ... while the following week he would return the ball 4 times for 73 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

College

Played four seasons in Houston ... playing in 35 games carrying the ball 640 times for 2946 yards and 23 touchdowns ... averaging 4.6 yards per carry ... still holds a school record for a single game high ... recording 41 carries for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns vs East Carolina on September 9, 2002 ... he finished his career with 13 games of recording 100 yards or more ... eight of them came in his final season ... he would also record 80 receptions for 677 yards and 3 touchdowns ... During his career he established himself as one of the top dual-threats as a running back and receiver, Not only in Conference USA, but also nationally...extremely powerful runner who did improve as one of the best blockers among UH's running backs with his ability to pick up blitzes ... he was ranked among the national leaders in receptions by a running back.

2002

Had his best season in Houston playing in 12 games ... led the Cougars in rushing with 316 carries for 1545 yards and 11 touchdowns for an impressive 128.8 average yards rushing per game ... all career best numbers ... averaging 4.8 yards per carry ... his longest run would be a 72 yard touchdown run ... he would also record 19 receptions for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns ... throughout the season he would record eight 100 yard games setting a conference record ... on of his biggest games came on November 9 as Reynolds would carry the ball 41 times for 300 yards in a 54-48 overtime loss to East Carolina which is a school record ... he also recorded big games on October 19 vs Army ... carrying the ball 29 times for 197 yards and two touchdowns and October 12 vs UAB carrying the ball 26 times for 148 yards and 1 touchdown.

2001

Started all 11 games...led the Cougars in rushing with 818 yards on 181 carries...also was tops on the team with seven rushing touchdowns and eight total scores...has 50 total points which includes a two-point conversion...was second on the team in receiving with 37 catches for 349 yards...had impressive averages of 4.5 rushing and 9.4 receiving...rushed for over 100 yards in three straight conference games...had 101 on 20 carries versus Army, 108 on 14 totes against Memphis and finally 116 yards on 27 carries against Cincinnati...became the first UH running back since Ketric Sanford in 1999 to rush for 100 yards in three straight games...also topped 100 yards against Louisville (19-114)...had at least one reception in every game...caught a career high seven passes for 70 yards against Army...was named UH Offensive Player of the Week for his performances against Army and Louisville...is ranked in the Top 15 in the nation for running backs with 3.1 receptions per game...was 57th nationally in all-purpose yards with 114.2 per game and 60th in the nation in rushing with 76.8 yards/contest...is averaged an impressive 87.1 yards per game rushing during Conference USA games ...missed most of the UAB game after suffering bruised ribs early in the second quarter...still rushed for a opening-drive touchdown...

2000

Began the year as the Cougars' starting running back ... played in 10 games and led the team in rushing with 534 yards on 136 carries (3.9 avg.) ... also led the team with five rushing touchdowns...also chipped in 24 receptions for 193 yards...was 10th in the nation in receptions per game for a running back (2.7 rpg.)...named Conference USA Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his career-best performance against Army...rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Cougars to victory over the Black Knights...his 34 carries also were a career high at UH ...

1999

Played in only two games, but showed flashes of ability in both...rushed for a season-high 35 yards on six carries against Louisiana-Lafayette...had an exciting 14-yard run at Alabama.

1998

Completed a redshirt season in first year with the program.

In High School Joffrey was a two-year letterman at Lee High School in Tyler, Texas...led his team to a 7-5 record and a playoff berth in 1997... was an All-District 12-5A running back selection his senior year... named Second-Team, All-District his junior year...an All-East Texas choice by the East Texas Sports Writers Association ...earned Honourable Mention All-State honours in 1997 from the Texas Association of Sports Writers...named the 54th best player in Texas by the Austin American Statesman Fab 55 ... named one of the Top 100 in the region by National Recruiting Advisor...was one of the Top 90 players in Texas by Jeff Whitaker's Deep South Recruiting...led District 12-5A in rushing in 1997 with 1,826 yards on 262 carries and 15 touchdowns...had a 74-yard TD run versus Texas High ... rushed for 714 yards on 125 carries and nine touchdowns his junior year...as a receiver, caught eight passes for 125 yards with a long of 50...chose UH over Baylor, Texas A&M, Kansas and TCU... coached in high school by Mike Owens ... son of Lorraine Reynolds of Tyler...majoring in kinesiology.
