York Revolution News Release
(York, Pa.): The defending Atlantic League champion York Revolution have a big day planned this Saturday in advance of the start of Spring Training, both out in the community with players and DownTown visiting local Little League Opening Day ceremonies, and at Sovereign Bank Stadium with the Revs hosting their annual Open Tryout, weather permitting.
While Little League Opening Day is one of the most exciting days of the year to begin with for young ballplayers, this year should be even more exciting, with visits from players and everyone's favorite mascot DownTown at no less than 13 different Little Leagues around the area. This Saturday alone, three Revs players will make their way around to six separate Opening Day ceremonies.
Revs pitcher Michael Nix and DownTown will reach three Little Leagues in the Hanover area this Saturday, appearing at the West Manheim Recreation Association from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., South Hanover Little League from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., and New Oxford Little League from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m.
Meanwhile, outfielder Chris Walker will be at the York Little League Opening Day festivities from 8:45 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, and will then appear at York City Little League from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Revs pitcher Sean Stidfole will appear at York Haven's Little League opener from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Also, this Sunday, DownTown will appear at the Dover Athletic Association's opener from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
DownTown's tours will continue on Saturday, April 30, with at least five more Little League visits scheduled. Those include Manchester, Red Land, Stewartstown, Spring Grove, and Littlestown.
The Revs are also holding their annual Open Tryout at Sovereign Bank Stadium this Saturday, weather permitting. The tryout begins at 9 a.m.
Should rain interfere, there is no makeup date. Any weather-related cancellation information will be posted by Friday morning on YorkRevolution.com.
