York Revolution News Release

The York Revolution stomped on the Camden Riversharks again with an 8-0 victory to complete a series sweep at Campbell's Field on Sunday afternoon. The Revs, winners of five of their last six games, will return home to host the Long Island Ducks on Monday evening in the opener of a four-game series at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

York jumped on Camden early with four runs in the top of the first inning. Brandon Haveman drove the second pitch of the game out to right field for a leadoff home run, his second game-opening leadoff jack of the season, both at Campbell's Field. After Sharks starter Eddy Camacho struck out the next two hitters, York rallied for three more runs on four consecutive hits, marking the fifth time in the last six games in which they've scored at least four times in one inning. Andres Perez sparked the rally with a double to left-center, and scored when Johan Limonta singled to right-center and right fielder Danny Santiesteban booted the ball, being charged with an error. Michael Hernandez added an RBI triple down the left field line, and Jeff Fiorentino capped the outburst with an RBI single up the middle, extending his hitting streak to nine consecutive games.

Scott Grimes added to the lead with a two-run homer to left field in the fourth inning, and York scored twice more in the seventh on an RBI single to left by Limonta, and a Fiorentino fielder's choice.

The onslaught came in support of Revs starter Chris Cody (9-11) who did not require much support to back his dominant effort. The lefty allowed just three hits in 6.1 innings and walked none, throwing 71 of 93 pitches for strikes to win his fifth consecutive start.

Cody allowed a pair of two-out singles in the first, before going on to retire each of the next 13 batters, and allowing nothing more than a base runner who reached on an error over the next 17 batters he faced. He did not allow another hit until the seventh when Pedro Feliz led off with a double, and came back to retire the next hitter, Eduardo Perez, on one pitch on a fly out to center before giving way to reliever Stephen Penney who cleanly finished the inning, preserving the shutout.

Penney and Yunior Novoa each went 1.1 innings in relief to close out the Revs' seventh shutout victory of the season, a three-hitter which matched the fewest hits allowed in a game by the York staff in 2012.

Notes: The sweep, a rain-shortened three-game effort, is just the second of the season for the Revs, and first since May 11-13 vs. Somerset. York is three games over .500 in the second half (19-16) for the first time this season, while matching a season-high at five games over .500 overall (55-50) for the first time since June 30. York used 16 hits to score at least seven runs for the fifth time in the last six games, all five of which have been victories. The Revs outscored the Riversharks 28-3 in the series, and have outscored opponents 44-8 over the last six games, including 44-5 in the five wins on that stretch. Revs starters have posted a 1.52 ERA over the last eight games with seven quality starts on that stretch. Cody now owns a 1.85 ERA on his five-game winning streak after his team-leading 12th quality start of the year. The Revs are now 25-16 on the road since May 18. York also improves to 15-7 in day games. York is now 9-7 against Camden on the season, having won five of six meetings in the second half including each of the last four. York's Ryan Feierabend (5-3, 2.55) will face Long Island's Jino Gonzalez in Monday's series opener at Sovereign Bank Stadium at 6:30 p.m. It is a Hatfield Dollar Dog Night, and it is National Night Out. Tickets are available at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
