Foxborough, Mass. - The New England Revolution (6-0-3, 21 pts.) remain unbeaten nine games into the season after playing the Colorado Rapids (2-7-2, 8 pts.) to a 0-0 draw Saturday night in front of 12,317 fans at Gillette Stadiums. The Revs have not allowed a goal at home this season and stretched their consecutive home shutout streak to 484 minutes, dating back to October 16, 2004.

With Colorado on the attack early in the game, Rapids forward Jeff Cunningham entered the area from the left flank. Revs goalkeeper Matt Reis came off of his line and out toward Cunningham. Reis slid to take the ball off of Cunningham's feet and keep Colorado off the board.

The Revs went close for the first time when forward Pat Noonan took his first shot of the match in the 26th minute. Revs midfielder José Cancela served a ball to the right corner from the left midfield as he was fouled. Referee Ben Jones signed play on and Noonan received the ball and was able to free himself to take a shot. Noonan's effort, however, was deflected wide left.

On the ensuing corner kick, Colorado cleared the ball out of the area to the feet of rookie midfielder James Riley. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native served a ball into the area and midfielder Andy Dorman ran onto it to take a shot, but was off target and the Rapids pushed it out over the endline for another Revolution corner kick.

In the second minute of added time in the first half, Cancela played a cross into a crowded area from the left flank. Revs captain Shalrie Joseph came streaking into the box from the midfield and connected with a header, but his shot went back out toward the left flank.

The Rapids seized the initiative to start the second half. In the 49th minute, Rapids midfielder Kyle Beckerman blasted a shot from the top right corner of the area. Reis, however, made a spectacular save, flashing his left hand to deflect the shot off of the crossbar. Reis then covered the rebound to snuff out the danger.

Seconds later, the Revs carried the ball to their attacking third and Cancela blasted a shot from 30 yards from goal. Cannon made a diving save at the near post and pushed the shot wide and out of play.

In the 80th minute, Rapids midfielder Guy Melamed was ejected after he tackled Dorman from behind and was shown his second yellow yard. The Revs played the last 10 minutes one man up. The Rapids bunkered down and defended successfully with the Revs unable to break through and create meaningful chances and the game ended in a draw.

The New England Revolution will be home for the second consecutive week next Saturday, June 4 to host the Kansas City Wizards at 7:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on WB56 and WEEI 850 AM. For tickets, call 1-877-GET-REVS.
