Revolution Re-Signs Goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution has re-signed goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth to a new contract. Per club policy, further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We're pleased Bobby has decided to re-sign and continue his career in New England," Revolution general manager Michael Burns said. "Bobby is a player who's made great progress as a goalkeeper during his time here and we believe his improvement will continue as he competes for regular first-team minutes."

Shuttleworth, 25, has made 22 appearances since 2010, including 21 starts. So far this year, he has started two games, posting a 1.00 goals against average. In 2011 and 2012, he made seven starts each season and closed out the season as the starting goalkeeper both years. Last year, his 0.71 goals against average was the lowest GAA among back-up goalkeepers with at least three starts. He has four career shutouts.

The Revolution signed Shuttleworth on June 18, 2009, on a free transfer from the Austin Aztex of the United Soccer Leagues. He played three seasons at the University of Buffalo, where he had a 20-7-7 career record and a career GAA of 0.80.
