
Registration Now Open for 2013 Copa Univision

HOUSTON, TX (Thursday, April 11, 2013) - The Houston Dynamo and Univision 45 announced today that registration is now open for 2013 Copa Univision, to be held at the Houston Amateur Sports Park on June 15.
This year's tournament will be the second time that Copa Univision will be held at the Houston Amateur Sports Park, the official training facility of the two-time MLS Cup champion Houston Dynamo.
Copa Univision is a 5v5 soccer tournament that features both male and female brackets in the U10, U12, U14, U16 and open adult divisions. Registration is $200 for a youth team and $240 for an adult team and includes eight tickets to the Houston Dynamo's June 22 match vs. Toronto FC at BBVA Compass Stadium.
"Copa Univision provides players from around Houston an excellent opportunity to participate in a nationwide series of soccer," said Adrian Moses, General Manager of Houston Amateur Sports Park. "We are proud to host such an event for the second consecutive year and encourage players and their families to come out and enjoy a day of competition and fun at the Houston Amateur Sports Park."
Houston is one of the 12 cities to host this year's Copa Univision. Other cities include: Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix, San Francisco, San Antonio, Sacramento, Austin, and Fresno.
"With the continued support of the Houston Dynamo and our local Univision Radio stations, Univision 45 is ready to bring back the excitement of Copa Univision to the Houston community," said David Loving, senior vice president and general manager of KXLN Univision 45 and KFTH UniMÃÆÃ¡s 67 Houston. "Families will once again be able to enjoy the competitive soccer matches and a day full of entertainment."
Teams will be allowed to enter a roster with a maximum of eight players and will play at least three games in the tournament. In addition, the winning teams from the men's and women's open adult divisions will win $1000 each in prize money.
