POSTGAME QUOTES: New England Revolution II 3 vs FC Cincinnati 1

New England Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay

On his overall assessment of the game and the difference in play throughout:

Peay: "Yeah, very poor start. Our mentality - we were not focused, careless with the ball, not organized defensively and we paid for it. Obviously in the second half we made some changes, and I thought those changes really helped us. I thought our mentality and how we wanted to build our attack was better. There was more purpose to what we were doing with the ball, and we had some brilliant goals."

On the halftime message to the team:

Peay: "We had to stop overcomplicating the play with the ball. We thought there was space in behind to exploit because they had a high line and you wanted to make sure that we were finding those spaces with runs and with the delivery of the ball. From there, we felt if we did that, we would create chances, and we did. I think defensively we were just more engaged, more collective in how we did things and really eliminated any silly chances."

On Ryan Lima's performance:

Peay: "Yeah, he still is not fully fit. We knew 45 minutes for him would be difficult, especially in the middle of the field, but the goal was special. He's got that quality in him, and it was obviously needed at that moment. Brilliant strike and very happy for him. His first goal with us and we hope that there will be many more."

On Jack Panayotou's brace:

Peay: "Yeah, I think he's ecstatic inside there, and he's just a tremendous little player. He's gifted and he was a little out of position playing as the forward, but he's intelligent. He's got a nose for goal. He's been scoring goals at the Academy level for years now and so for him, no different. He's doing it at the next level, and we always thought he had that ability, so it was good to see him not only get his first but then tally the game winner. Couldn't be happier for him."

Revolution II Midfielder Jack Panayotou

On his first two professional goals:

Panayotou: "It felt amazing to score my first professional goal. I think I went to make a little run for it and the ball popped up, came to me. I felt relaxed and put it away. And then the second goal the ball went out wide to Jake [Rozhansky] and he's a great player. I knew he was going to find me in the box, made the run and it was an easy finish."

On carrying this momentum forward:

Panayotou: "We've got a great team here and I want to do my best to be in the squad and help make an impact every game. We continue to develop, and I'll hopefully make a start, make some more starts, score some more goals, get more wins."

On Coach Clint Peay's halftime message:

Panayotou: "They told me to stretch the field, get in behind. I don't play striker normally, but I feel like I make good for runs. Once I started getting forward and getting in behind, the game really opened up and we really got to show our quality."

Revolution II Midfielder Jake Rozhansky

On his overall view of the game and how things changed:

Rozhansky: "First half was shocking. Really bad, and Clint let us know that as soon as we came in at halftime. All the players, we were terrible. Maybe it is because we did not play in a week, we had a week off, just kind of sluggish from there. But we knew that if we got one goal, we would come back and win the game. That's exactly what happened."

On his assist for the game winning goal:

Rozhansky: "Yeah so I started the game playing as a 6, which is my usual position and then Clint moved me higher and I was kind of trying to play on the line. Trevor [Zwetsloot] got the ball and turned. Jack [Panayotou], [Ryan] Lima, and a couple other guys were in the middle so I pulled out wide to the right Trevor [Zwetsloot] played me the ball and the ball was just kind of moving at a pace where I could hit it first time across the box, and I did that and Jack [Panayotou] scored. That was like a huge moment for us, a moment of elation. Him getting two goals, you know, it's no better feeling to come back 2-0 down and win 3-2, that's like Premier League stuff."

On the team's mindset carrying this momentum forward:

Rozhansky: "Just do the same thing. We know we can't start games like that again because not every time we will be able to come back from there. It's hard to score three goals in any game, but just continue because we have won three games off the bat, two games winning and one game kind of a tie in penalties. If we can just continue that, picking up points, that's the goal."
