FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution II (10-5-6; 40 pts.) battled New York Red Bulls II (10-6-5; 37 pts.), to a 1-1 draw on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium where Red Bulls II earned the extra point in the shootout with a 4-3 victory. New England extended their unbeaten streak to six games, continuing their longest string of undefeated games this season, while forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith scored his ninth goal of the season.

The match remained scoreless until the 63rd minute when Revolution II debutant Patrick Leal's back-post cross found the head of Adebayo-Smith. The Englishman notched five shots with two falling on target, and now leads the league in shots on target with 29, while also leading the team in goals with nine. Leal's assist is his first goal contribution for New England, after coming on as a first-half substitute in the 43rd minute. Midfielder Noble Okello also made his first appearance since April 2, coming on as a substitute in the 60th minute.

Red Bulls II leveled the scoring in second half stoppage time through O'Vonte Mullings, sending the game to a shootout. Jacob Akanyirige, Olger Escobar, and Jack Panayotou all converted their spot kicks, but New York claimed the additional point with a 4-3 victory. Jacob Jackson recorded a season-high three saves in the shootout alongside his two saves in regulation.

New England returns to action on Wednesday, August 9, when Revolution II travels to Osceola Heritage Park to take on Orlando City B. The match kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET and streams live on MLSNEXTPro.com.

With the draw, Revolution II extended their unbeaten streak to six matches and improved their home record to 6-1-3 on the season.

Forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith tallied his team-leading ninth goal of the season against his former team. The East London native also led New England with five shots, two on target.

Midfielder Patrick Leal earned his first assist of the season on Adebayo-Smith's goal. The Newton, Mass. native entered the match in the 43rd minute to mark his Revolution II debut after signing with the squad on Friday.

Goalkeeper Jacob Jackson recorded two saves in the match and added on a season-high three saves in the shootout.

Midfielder Noble Okello entered the match in the 60th minute, marking his first appearance since April 2 after returning from injury.

Revolution II Assistant Coach Marcelo Santos

On the team's performance:

Santos: "The end wasn't what we expected, but I thought the guys played a really good game, competed well, did a lot of things we talk about. So, move to the next one."

On Patrick Leal's debut:

Santos: "You can see that he's [Patrick Leal] not 90-minute fit, let's put it that way, but I think he contributed, he got the assist on the goal, showed what he can be good at. I think if we look at the next two or three games, I think he's going to be a guy who's really going to help the team."

On Noble Okello's return:

Santos: "That's the subs we put out there. We know those guys are not necessarily ready to play a lot of minutes, but they will help us in the future. So, we need to put them on the field to give them the opportunity to progress, and I think that was the idea. Noble [Okello] showed that he can help us; the size, his calm, he's a leader. So, all of those things, he going to be great."

On the quick turnaround to Wednesday's match in Orlando:

Santos: "It is good that we have a healthy group. We have a big group, and we're going to see how the guys feel tomorrow and try to tackle the next one. But I think it's not any different than the first team, so the guys have a little bit of that feeling."

Leal: "Yeah, it felt good to play with the guys finally. And, I mean, I'm a little unfit, but I'll get there. But yeah, it just felt good. Unfortunate with the outcome, but other than that, I played well."

On getting acquainted with his new team:

Leal: "Yeah, like right away. There's a lot of good guys in there, so it was really easy to come in."

On Clint Peay's message to him was before he took the pitch:

Leal: "Basically just do your best. That's all he really said."

On what drew him back to New England:

Leal: "I was looking to leave my old club, and New England came calling, and I wanted to come back to MLS anyways. And this is my old club, and I still have love for New England, so it was time to come back."
