FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution today announced that midfielder Brandon Tyler has signed a Major League Soccer contract to play for the Revs. Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not released. Tyler will occupy one of the slots on the Revolution's 10-man developmental roster.

Tyler, 19, signed with the Revolution following an extended trial with the club. The product of Phoenix, Ariz., youth club Santos FC played in two preseason games with the Revs in New Orleans, making second-half appearances against Marathón in the defensive midfield. He has also made two appearances in the 2008 MLS Reserve Division as a guest player, starting and playing 90 minutes in the Revs' matches against Chicago on April 4 and Kansas City on April 10. Tyler spent the 2007 calendar year training with Centro Atlético Fénix of Uruguay's top division.

The Revolution will next face the rival New York Red Bulls on Saturday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. at Giants Stadium. TV38 will televise the game live, while the WEEI Radio Network will carry the game in the New England area. For more information, visit www.revolutionsoccer.net or call 1-877-GET-REVS.
