Reum Signs for a Third Season
August 4, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wichita Thunder News Release
Wichita, KS - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced today that defenseman Dalton Reum has re-signed for the 2016-17 season.
"Dalton is a rugged, stay-at-home defenseman that keeps people honest and is solid in his own end," said Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. "When I coached against him in junior, he was a good penalty killing guy and team-first player. I look forward to seeing him with the Thunder this season."
Reum, 24, returns for his third season in the Air Capital and fourth as a pro. A native of Camrose, Alberta, the 6-foot-3, 170-pound blueliner appeared in 65 games last year, recording 12 points (4g, 8a) to go along with 111 penalty minutes. He appeared in 26 games in 2014-15 before having his season cut short due to an injury. Overall, Reum has collected 22 points (5g, 17a) and 233 penalty minutes in 143 career games.
"I'm very excited about coming back to Wichita for another season," said Reum. "Expectations will be raised with the new affiliation. I'm looking forward to starting the journey to winning the Kelly cup in a Thunder Uniform this upcoming season. We want to bring it to Wichita for the best fans in the ECHL!"
Prior to turning pro, Reum played three seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants and Swift Current Broncos. In 212 career games, he amassed 37 assists (8g, 29a) and 191 penalty minutes. Reum becomes the second defenseman signed to the roster. His cousin, Landon Oslanski, was announced last week.
The Thunder kicks off their 25th Anniversary season on Saturday, October 15th against the Tulsa Oilers. Season tickets are on sale now. Put down your $50 deposit per seat and pay it off all summer long. Contact a Thunder representative at the office today.
