St. Cloud Rox News Release
Alexandria, MN- After giving up 3 runs in the home half of the first, and then trailing 5-1 after 4 innings, the Rox once again refused to go quietly into the night, as they rallied to win tonight's game by a final score of 8-6.
The Rox were able to get a few runs back, as they tallied 1 run in both the 5th and 7th innings, yet still trailed 5-3 heading into the 8th.
With 2 outs and the bases loaded, Connor Crane (Mcneese St.) laced a single into right field to cut the Rox deficit to just one run.
Luke Doyle (Yavapoi College) hit a bases clearing double down the left field line, to give the Rox a 7-5 lead, before he scored the final run for the Rox to give them a 8-5 lead.
The Blue Anchors were able to get a run back in the 9th, and even had the tying run reach first, but Trevor Charpie (Saddleback CC) closed the door when he ended the game with a strikeout.
The Rox return to action tomorrow night in Alexandria for game number 2 against the Blue Anchors. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
