Republic FC & Citizens Business Bank Create Small Business Showcase
March 31, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Sacramento Republic FC News Release
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. - Today, Republic FC and Citizens Business Bank announced an extended partnership focused on celebrating and highlighting small businesses in the region, and providing an opportunity for the entrepreneurs of the region to grow. Citizens Business Bank entered the Sacramento Region following the merger with Suncrest Bank that culminated earlier this year, and through a new partnership, Republic FC and Citizens Business Bank will collaborate to highlight the indomitable spirit of the small business community in the region.
"Small businesses are an integral part of our region's identity and economy, and some of the strongest examples of the indomitable spirit, especially as communities continue to recover from the effects of the pandemic," said Republic FC President and General Manager Todd Dunivant. "Building on the success of our previous small business assistance programs, this new partnership with Citizens Business Bank will help us provide some unique resources to businesses that make up the backbone of our community."
"Citizens Business Bank is committed to supporting entrepreneurs with opportunities to foster and grow their businesses," said Jeff Martin, Area Manager. "We are thrilled to be teaming up with Republic FC to recognize and uplift Sacramento's small business community."
Two well-deserving small, locally operated businesses will receive a custom partnership package to amplify and expand their business reach, courtesy of Citizens Business Bank and Republic FC. The first nomination period opens today, with the winner to be announced the first week of May - National Small Business Month. The club will open the second nominations window in July. Business owners can apply online at SacRepublicFC.com/Small-Business-Showcase until April 8th.
Through the Small Business Showcase, qualified businesses will be invited to a Small Business Mixer at an upcoming match to learn about opportunities through Citizens Business Bank, Republic FC, and several local business advocates to help support their development. A panel of Citizens Business Bank and Republic FC leaders, as well as local entrepreneurs from Republic FC's Kickstart program, and business groups will evaluate the nominees to select five finalists who will be invited to pitch their business to receive the custom partnership package.
Winners will receive a consultation with local media, marketing and sports sponsorship experts to help curate a custom package to help meet the business' unique goals. Potential partnership elements include tickets to upcoming matches to help with social marketing and client engagement, in-stadium activations including videoboard advertisements and Fan Zone activations, broadcast features during the season, digital content spotlights, social media marketing and podcast features.
Beyond the showcase, Republic FC will continue to work with local businesses to enhance the game day experience with food and beverage, provide members with gifts and products that represent the best of the region, and showcase the businesses throughout our community that bring our neighborhoods together. Recently, the club launched its Blood, Sweat & Beers Council - an opportunity for local craft brewers to come together and lift up the region's robust beer businesses - with Jackrabbit Brewing Company as the first member of the group.
In 2020, Republic FC Kickstart - the club's small business grant program - created opportunities to support local businesses that were facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program went on to receive national recognition, including a USL Impact Award. Twenty local businesses received a share of the $42,000 grant pool to help their businesses operate in a difficult business climate over the last 2 years.
Republic FC's season continues this Saturday when the Boys in Old Glory Red host Monterey Bay FC for their first regular season meetup in Sacramento. The club will celebrate community heroes and helpers during First Responders Night, presented by Medic Ambulance. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Heart Health Park and tickets are available at SacRepublicFC.com/tickets. The game will also be broadcast on Fox40 and Antenna TV 40.2 - in English and Spanish, available via SAP function, as well as streaming on Fox40.com and the Fox 40 News mobile app. The game will also be available on ESPN+.
