Report: Manny to Rehab with 66ers

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Manny Ramirez could be wearing a 66ers uniform next week.

Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times reports that Joe Torre expects Ramirez to begin a rehab stint with the 66ers as early as next Thursday, June 25, in Lake Elsinore. This decision came after Torre met with Ramirez early Wednesday morning. While this is the plan for now, Torre cautioned that things such as rehab stints are always subject to change.

The 66ers are scheduled to play at Lake Elsinore June 25-27, and then return home for a series against Rancho Cucamonga June 28-30. The 66ers schedule is ideal for Ramirez, as he will be able to return to his home in Pasadena after any game he plays with the 66ers during that timeframe.
