Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
FISHKILL, NY (August 8, 2007) - One night after stranding twelve baserunners in a frustrating 6-4 loss, the Hudson Valley Renegades rebounded with an 8-4 victory over the Batavia Muckdogs.
At the plate, the Renegades rocked Batavia pitching. Cody Cipriano slammed a towering two-run home run in the fourth inning, while Mike McCormick collected three hits and drove in a run.
Emeel Salem and Maiko Loyola, representing the Renegades in the NY-Penn League All-Star Game alongside McCormick and pitcher Jason Ragan, contributed to the Renegades win with two hits apiece.
On the mound, Diego Echerverria earned his second win of the season with 5 1/3 solid innings. Reliever Keith Boggan shined in relief, allowing only one run on three hits in the final 3 2/3 innings to notch his third save of the season.
Josh Johnson (2-2, 3.05 ERA) will make the start tomorrow night in the rubber match for the Renegades (20-28), while Clayton Long (0-4, 4.32 ERA) takes the mound for the Muckdogs (18-29).
